GRAND VICTORIA CASINO KEEPS IT ROCKIN’ BY THE RIVER
Southern Rock Reigns Supreme at Grand Victoria Casino

Elgin, August 4, 2014    There was collective boot tapping happening down in Festival Park Sunday as The Grand Victoria Casino hosted the fifth concert of their Rock & Roll Concert Series.  Over five thousand concert goers experienced not one but four venerable Southern Rock legends:  Artimus Pyle Band, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, and headlining the evening, Marshall Tucker Band.

Popular ballads as “Freebird” and “Sweet Home Alabama” had the audience dancing in the aisles, as Artimus Pyle Band, with former Lynard Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle took the stage.  The rocking didn’t stop until Marshall Tucker Band closed out the evening with “Can’t You See” complete with the audience’s enthusiastic participation.

Jim Thomason, General Manager of Grand Victoria Casino discussed the evening’s apparent success: “The popularity and continued success of our concert series has been gratifying, as this not only benefits the casino but also showcases the City of Elgin and everything downtown Elgin has to offer. The popularity of the concert series introduces non-residents to the area, opening up the possibility of return trips to the area to experience local dining and culture.”

The Rock & Roll Concert Series  will conclude with Deep Purple on August 20th.  Tickets are on sale at GrandVictoriaCasino.com
